FREE WAFFLES FOR ALL STUDENTS

Presidents of the Rhine-Main Universities (RMU) hand out waffles
Although International Waffle Day is actually on 25 March, the Rhine-Main Universities alliance (RMU) invites students to enjoy a free waffle! On 3 February 2026, from 12:30 pm and as long as supplies last, students can collect freshly backed Belgian waffles in the Casino foyer.
The three presidents are on-site to distribute the delicious baked goods in person: Prof. Dr. Enrico Schleiff, President of Goethe-University, Prof. Dr. Tanja Brühl, President of TU Darmstadt, and Prof. Dr. Georg Krausch, President of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz will hand out waffles for free upon presentation of a student ID and look forward to engage in conversation with students.
There will also be a booth with information on the RMU Study Program where students can speak to experts and ask them everything they want to know about the three partner universities’ joint study offer.
Of course, students at the other two Rhine-Main Universities will not go away empty-handed: President Krausch will hand out waffles at Johannes Gutenberg University on 10 February 2026 and President Brühl will hand out waffles at TU Darmstadt on 16 February 2026.
