Description

This event is part of the RMU Postdoc Career Weeks 2026

Good scientific practice in supervision is more than just a set of rules – it is an attitude that introduces students not only academically but also ethically and responsibly into the scientific community. What does this concretely mean for you as a supervisor? Which points should you pay attention to in order to prevent scientific misconduct from the outset, and which standards, guidelines, and support resources are available to you? Using case examples, we will discuss these issues together and provide you with practical tips to proactively prevent misconduct.

Contents:

  • Regulations and positions regarding good scientific practice in supervision
  • Presentation of forms of academic misconduct in supervisory situations
  • Considerations regarding the causes and conditions leading to academic misconduct
  • Overview of prevention options

Learning Objectives:

We offer you support for your everyday role as a scientific leader!

By engaging more deeply with the principles of good scientific practice, as well as the rights and responsibilities of all involved parties, you can make an important contribution to preventing misconduct and better support your doctoral candidates and students.
