The Open Access module offers comprehensive insight into various aspects of Open Access.

Module objectives:

• Understanding the requirements and expectations of funding organisations with regard to Open Access (OA mandates)
• Knowledge of the advantages of Open Access for the visibility and impact of research
• Ability to prepare funding applications with integrated Open Access strategies
   

Contents:

• Requirements of funding organisations: Open Access policies and specific requirements
• Advantages of Open Access: visibility, impact and global networking (more specifically in Module 1)
• Strategies for implementing Open Access: Gold route, Green route, embargo periods
• Preparing funding applications: integration of Open Access strategies, budget planning for publication costs
