The Computer Collection of the Data Center (ZDV) was founded in 1973 by Prof. Dr. Herbert Kargl, who at the time held the Chair of Business Administration and Information Systems. It comprises approximately 60 computers that illustrate the evolution of computing from the early 1970s to today. Most of the exhibits are in working order or can be restored in the on-site repair and assembling shop.
