Rhein-Main Universitäten (RMU)

The Physical Geography and Geology Map Collection comprises over 60,000 topographic and thematic maps of various scales from Germany and many countries around the world from the 19th to 21st centuries, as well as atlases, wall maps, city maps, aerial photographs, map explanations, and geological guides. The current topographic and geoscientific maps serve as orientation and information in and about the terrain for teaching and research; the historical perspective allows them to be used as an archive of recent landscape history. 

Far beyond the common digital mobile maps of everyday use, the maps in the collection serve to explore and interpret natural and anthropogenic spatial phenomena in greater depth.
