The estate of art historian Georg Friedrich Koch includes an extensive postcard collection consisting of over 1,000 picture postcards. Like large-format slides, postcards were an important part of teaching art history and architectural history before the advent of digital imaging. They were also used for examinations at universities. Georg Friedrich Koch also used them in his higher education.
