The Study Collection of Egyptology of the Institute for Ancient Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz holds around 50 certified, partly large-size colored plaster casts molded after Ancient Egyptian originals. The reliefs, steles and statuettes, vessels, amulets and other small finds date from 2.500 until 200 BCE. The collection focuses on the Old Kingdom (including a tomb relief showing poultry farming, statue of a scribe), on royal images from the New Kingdom (such as Akhenaton and Nefertiti, Sethos I) and Late Period statuettes of deities in human or animal form.
