The RMU Collections
The Rhein-Main Universities jointly house over 100 collections, archives and research-relevant assets. Standing as central resources for research and teaching, they form a unique cultural, scientific and natural heritage.
As research collections, they serve as documentary, reference and comparative material, while fostering subject-specific competencies in their function as teaching collections. Whether for historical analysis, empirical studies or exploring new methods, the collections provide an invaluable basis for the development of research questions, and at the same time, open up access to historical and contemporary knowledge and its critical reflection.
The collections have partly been digitized and are accessible via the respective university portals. The RMU-wide networking is currently being continuously expanded in order to further improve access to these valuable resources – including across disciplinary and state boundaries.
