Study and Teaching Collections on the Prehistory and Early History of Europe and Africa
- Humanities and Social Sciences
The teaching collection of the Department of Pre- and Proto-History at the Institute of Archaeological Sciences comprises finds from all prehistoric periods of human history. One focus of the collection is on the African Stone Ages in Africa, which includes several thousand-year-old lithic artefacts from different parts of the continent. Replicas of metal age objects and ceramics from the early metal ages are also included. The collection items are regularly used in teaching and give students a deeper understanding of the objects than publications can provide.
