Unique in Germany in the field of heart-lung research: The Cardiopulmonary Institute (CPI) Cluster of Excellence
In the context of the Cardiopulmonary Institute (CPI), researchers are exploring the interaction between heart and lung and work in interdisciplinary teams on the development of new therapeutics for the treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases.
The DFG-funded Cluster of Excellence, which was established in 2019 and is unique in Germany in its form, is a joint research endeavor of Goethe University Frankfurt, Justus Liebig University Giessen and the Max-Planck-Institute for Heart and Lung Research Bad Nauheim.
In the interview, spokesperson Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Stefanie Dimmeler explains what makes the CPI so unique, speaks about the successes already achieved, future projects and the advantages of the RMU alliance for the CPI.
