Here you will learn how to read and decipher historical handwritten documents. The focus is on texts written in Kurrent script. After an overview of the history of writing and practical tips, you will receive a brief introduction to the AI tool Transkribus and can try your hand at some initial exercises.
The second session will then focus directly on transcription. From postcards and recipes to letters and certificates, you can work on examples of varying degrees of difficulty – or even bring your own documents.
