At the end of 2016, the RMU launched the Mercator Science-Policy Fellowship Program, which promotes exchange between academia and the policy sector.

The program is aimed at senior professionals from politics, public administration, civil society, and the media. Fellows are given the opportunity to engage in one-on-one and small-group discussions with RMU researchers on topics that are particularly relevant to their fields of work, while the participating researchers gain insight into the professional environments of the Fellows.

Since the program’s inception, the 236 Fellows have held more than 3,000 discussions with over 800 researchers in the Rhine-Main region.
