Description

Workshop with Sven-Daniel Gettys

Communicating research effectively: In this workshop, you’ll learn how to present your topics clearly and engagingly at your next conference, science slam or other events – in a way that suits you and your message. The workshop guides you through the entire process, from the initial idea right through to your presentation.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the skills to create a lively, audience-focused and well-structured presentation and to deliver it with confidence and conviction.

Sven-Daniel (Sveda) Gettys is a communication trainer, storyteller and lecturer. He supports universities, research institutes, museums and companies in their communication efforts and helps researchers with storytelling, developing presentations and improving their stage presence. He has coached speakers ranging from science slams to TEDx talks and teaches storytelling at various universities.

About this workshop series

This event is part of a series on science communication at JGU. If you attend four or more events in the series, you will receive the “WissKomm-Basics” certificate. All events are automatically open to participants from the RMU partner universities.

Through the Open Science and Science Communication project (COM Department), JGU is establishing a campus-wide advisory and professional development programme on science communication. Researchers and staff from all disciplines and at all levels of expertise benefit from support services and programmes designed to develop their skills. The project thus expands on existing science communication initiatives in Rhineland-Palatinate (WissKomm Academy) and at the Rhine-Main Universities (RMU).
