Device Type
Magnetoencephalography System (MEG)
Device Name
Coquitlam CTF 275-Kanal Whole-Head MEG System

Device Description

Whole-head MEG system with 275 axial gradiometric SQUID sensors for high-resolution measurement of magnetic fields of neural activity (bandwidth typically 0–300 Hz, sampling rates up to 6000 Hz). The system features an integrated helmet coil array for head position indicators (HPI), an optical head localization system, and fully automated, closed helium management via the helium recovery line to the ATL160 liquefier (zero-loss configuration). Supplemented by extensive peripheral physiology: EOG, EMG, GSR, respiratory belt, heart rate, and an eye-tracker system. The MEG system allows simultaneous EEG measurements (optional 64-channel setup).

Device Application

Conducting MEG measurements for research purposes, in particular to investigate the temporal dynamics of human brain activity during perception, cognition, motor function, and social interactions; multimodal studies in combination with EEG, behavior, peripheral physiological parameters, and (via cooperation structures) fMRI.
