Rhein-Main Universitäten (RMU)

The Astro and TV Lounge offers space for engaging with current and “obsolete” (Sterne, 2007) home media and allows visitors to come into direct contact with them. It aims to contextualize and highlight media specifics that are lost in emulation. The workspaces are set up to resemble media households and offer opportunities to engage in a variety of ways with home media, everyday objects, hardware, and software that can only be fully understood in the context of the “home.” They provide space for seminars and workshops to address questions about home media, computer games, and video games.
