Throughout its long history since 1484, today's university library has collected not only books and journals, but also the bequests of well-known and famous personalities. They come from all areas of artistic, scientific, and public life in and outside Frankfurt: from writers, artists, councilors, composers, and scholars of all disciplines in the humanities and natural sciences.
