Rhein-Main Universitäten (RMU)

The comic archive of the Institute for Youth Literature Research, which currently comprises some 70,000 media items, is the most extensive collection of German-language comics, manga, and graphic novels for academic purposes at Goethe University. The collection offers a representative cross-section of the development of this modern narrative form in German-speaking countries over seven decades, from its beginnings as so-called pulp fiction to diverse, innovative forms of visual storytelling as a recognized and valued medium in the present day.
