  • Natural Sciences

The collections of the Neurological Institute (Edinger Institute) comprise extensive collections of materials of various kinds: natural objects (animal brains and section series, wet preparations of pathologically altered human brains, neuropathological sections), equipment used in scientific practice in the past (microscopes, cutting machines, drawing apparatus), plastic artifacts (brain models of animals and hominids), paper documents (book and journal library, special prints, hand drawings, letters, photo portraits), and works of art (busts, paintings). Together, they form a unique cultural-historical ensemble on the history of brain research in Frankfurt am Main, which until 1933 was primarily driven by German Jews.
