The contiguous collection of 954 music rolls from the Frankfurt-based company J. D. Philipps Musikwerke is the largest of this kind worldwide. As part of the preservation process, the collection was digitized in 2024. The digitized material is currently undergoing emulation to produce audio files. Together with the existing DUCA reproduction piano (Feurich) in the music department, the collection opens up a wide range of perspectives in the field of performance studies as well as university teaching.
