Description

his workshop is intended for faculty members who wish to explore the fundamentals of communication and counseling approaches, as well as techniques for (systemic) conversation management. During the workshop—drawing on key academic literature—these fundamentals will be applied to the specific needs of everyday university life and tested through practical exercises. The workshop will also address the unique aspects of digital counseling settings.

 

Objectives:

Participants

  • will have developed guidelines for structured conversation preparation and follow-up, as well as conversation techniques.
  • will know how to adapt flexibly to different conversation requirements and apply conversation techniques in a goal-oriented manner (even in difficult conversation situations).
  • have become more aware of the possibilities and limitations of their respective roles (in their interactions with students).
  • have tested and expanded their communication skills in various conversation situations using concrete examples.

 

Contents:

  • Practice-oriented fundamentals of communication psychology
  • Structured preparation and follow-up for conversations
  • Key foundational skills in conversation management for initiating conversations, analyzing problems, addressing problems, and concluding conversations
  • Understanding one’s role in interactions with students
  • Exchange and development of individual tips and tricks for handling (difficult) conversational situations
