Power imbalances and discrimination are deeply ingrained in the German academic system. Eliminating these imbalances to make German academia a fairer place is a collective task that equality officers and advocates have been working on for decades. Since 2021, these issues have received particular attention thanks to the #IchBinHanna initiative, which campaigns against precarious employment conditions in academia. In her lecture, Amrei Bahr will focus in particular on the conditions for marginalized groups: What has been achieved for them since the start of #IchBinHanna, and what needs to be done to break down barriers and thus contribute to greater justice in German academia?

Amrei Bahr is a junior professor of philosophy of technology and information at the University of Stuttgart and focuses on issues of applied ethics, among other things. She advocates for fair working conditions in academia and is a co-initiator of #IchBinHanna.

The online keynote speech (held in German) is the opening event of this year's RMU Weeks of Equal Opportunities, organized jointly by the Equal Opportunity Offices of Goethe University Frankfurt, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and Technical University of Darmstadt.
