The Open Access module offers a comprehensive insight into various aspects of Open Access.

 

Module objectives:

  • Understanding the basics and significance of bibliometrics
  • Knowledge of common bibliometric indicators and how they are calculated
  • Ability to interpret and apply bibliometric data
  • Strategies for increasing the visibility and impact of research
  • Awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of using bibliometric indicators

  • Introduction to bibliometrics: definition, history and relevance
  • Common bibliometric indicators: impact factor, H-index, citation analysis, altmetrics
  • Data sources and tools: Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, Altmetric.com
  • Interpretation and application: Analysis and use of bibliometric data to evaluate research
  • Strategies for increasing visibility: Open access, social media, networks
  • Critical consideration: Advantages and disadvantages of using bibliometric indicators, ethical aspects
