Description

This event is part of the RMU Postdoc Career Weeks 2026

Many researchers have a strong skill set, but struggle to clearly describe it or use it strategically in their career decisions. This workshop takes a structured look at your skills: what you bring, how it translates across contexts, and how you can communicate it with clarity.

We will work with practical tools to map your competencies, reflect on your profile, and connect it to possible career directions - in academia and beyond. The goal is not just to “know your skills”, but to use them as a basis for informed choices and a coherent career strategy.

Learning objectives:

  • develop a structured overview of their skills and strengths based on their research experience
  • learn how to translate and communicate their competencies across different professional contexts
  • reflect on how their profile relates to possible career paths in and beyond academia
  • understand how to use skills mapping as a foundation for a clear and realistic career strategy

Trainer:
