Artificial Intelligence has long become part of everyday university life. In this info session you will learn how to deal with it and use AI (tools) responsibly and confidently – from basic concepts and how it works, through ethical and legal considerations, to writing prompts.
Content:
- Fundamentals of artificial intelligence (definitions, terminology, how it works)
- Responsible use of AI (data protection, biases, copyright, etc.)
- Writing prompts
Learning Objectives:
- Acquire a basic understanding of AI and the competencies needed for its responsible use
- Develop basic prompting skills
Speakers:
Paul Baselt studied geosciences and computational sciences, Tabea Schloß studied archaeology and then Near‑Eastern archaeology. With these distinct backgrounds, they both joined the Coordination Office for Digital Teaching and Learning in early 2023 to address artificial intelligence in higher education. Since then, they have organized numerous information events, coordinated various projects, and have played a key role in shaping the use of AI in study and teaching at JGU.
Target group: Early Career Researchers (R1, R2, R3) from TU Darmstadt, JGU Mainz and GU Frankfurt.
