Networks are an important part of everyday academic life. They open up new perspectives, promote professional and personal exchange, and create valuable contacts beyond one’s own university. For professors in particular, they offer the opportunity to share experiences, learn from one another and further develop joint ideas.

At the same time, the topic of health is becoming increasingly important. The qualification phase leading to a permanent professorship is characterised by high expectations, diverse responsibilities and intense pressure to perform. Many professors therefore face numerous challenges: finding a balance between research, teaching and administration; managing leadership responsibilities; balancing family and career – whilst not losing sight of their own health.

The network meeting combines both aspects: it offers you a space for discussion and networking with colleagues from the Rhine-Main Universities, whilst also inviting you to reflect on your own health and resilience in your day-to-day academic work. 

Contents:

• Kick-off: Getting to know one another and striking up conversations
• Keynote address by Prof. Dr Thomas Rigotti (JGU) on resilience: scientifically grounded and practical.
• Lunch together, with an opportunity for a personal chat with the President of JGU.
• Discussion on individual stressors and situations that trigger stress.
• Developing strategies for dealing with these challenges.
• Networking: connecting with RMU colleagues.
