On 5 December, Verbund Archäologie Rhein-Main (VARM) is holding the VARM annual conference 2025 at Campus Westend of Goethe-University Frankfurt. 

The program includes the panel discussions „Perspektivenwechsel: Archäologie in der nächsten Generation“ and „Archäologie sichtbar machen: Strategien für die Zukunft“, as well as poster sessions and more. 

The evening will conclude with the presentation of the Eduard Anthes award. The award, which carries a prize money of 7,500 euros and is the oldest German archaeology award, is presented for outstanding scientific work on archaeological topics in the German lower mountain ranges between the mouth of the river Neckar and the North-German plain

The Verbund Archäologie Rhein-Main (VARM) (Archaeology Network Rhine-Main), which is supported, among other institutions, by the Rhine-Main Universities, pools the various archaeological activities in the Rhine-Main area and offers classical scholars in the Rhine-Main area a shared platform for trans- and interdisciplinary exchange and joint research.
