Effective 1 April, the RMU spokesperson position - which is held on a rotating basis by the presidents of the Rhine-Main Universities for one-year terms - will change as scheduled. Prof. Dr. Tanja Brühl, President of the Technical University of Darmstadt, assumed the role of RMU spokesperson today, succeeding Prof. Dr. Enrico Schleiff, President of Goethe University Frankfurt.
"I am delighted to once again take on the role of spokesperson for the Rhine-Main Universities. As a strategic alliance of strong partners, we achieve more together – developing groundbreaking ideas and solutions to the pressing challenges of today and tomorrow, and creating promising opportunities for new generations. Our collaboration within RMU not only transforms us as institutions, as well as those who research, teach, study and work as members of our alliance – together with our partners, we are driving meaningful and sustainable transformations in both economy and society", says Brühl.
Brühl also emphasizes: "As RMU, we are looking ahead with great anticipation to an important opportunity: in two weeks’ time, we will present the strengths and potential of our alliance to the review panel in the competition for recognition as a University of Excellence Consortium. We are approaching this final stage as a collective effort – 400 colleagues are contributing their creativity, commitment and energy to prepare for this milestone. We will continue to build on this momentum together."
The RMU Spokesperson position was established in 2023 when the Alliance expanded its cooperation and governance structures. Brühl is now serving in this role for the second time.
