Device Type
NMR Spectrometer
Device Name
Elexsys E780 J-band
Device Variants
J-band EPR Spectrometer

Device Description

263 GHz quasi-optical front end; reflection/induction mode; Arbitrary waveform generator; 9.4 T Ascend 400DNP magnet; Oxford cryostat for liquid helium cooling; Measurement heads: one Bruker TE011 mode resonator and one self-built TE011 resonator for 0.20/0.33 mm sample capillaries.

Device Application

The applications of high-field EPR include the detailed characterization of complex biological systems, including g-tensor (CW/pulsed EPR), hyperfine structures (ENDOR/ELDOR-detected NMR), and pulsed dipolar EPR experiments (PELDOR/RIDME). The spectrometer can also be operated with shape pulses. The system can be used for both liquid and solid-state EPR.
