Device Description

The Leica TCS SP8 is an inverted confocal fluorescence microscope built on a DMi8 CEL Advanced stand. An incubation system on the table enables live cell imaging with multicolor fluorescence. Five lasers are available for excitation (405, 488, 514, 552, 638 nm). Fluorescence emission can be continuously adjusted between 400 and 800 nm and is detected by 2 PMTs and 1 HyD. An HPZ 640 Premium computer with CUDA graphics card and Leica HyVolution software (Huygens Deconvolution) enables online confocal super-resolution. Thanks to the motorized XY stage and Navigator software, mosaic scanning of large objects is possible. The following objectives are available: 10x/0.30 dry, 20x/0.75 dry CS2, 63x/1.30 GLYC CORR CS2, 63x/1.40 Oil CS2.

Device Application

Confocal, time-lapse, and high-resolution imaging, as well as FRET measurements for analyzing protein-protein interactions.
