Device Description

The Ponticon PE3D is a system for extreme high‑speed laser metal‑deposition welding (laser metal coating, LMD) with 5‑axis capability. It combines laser technology with precise multi‑axis kinematics for rapid, layer‑by‑layer fabrication or repair of metal components. The system delivers a high deposition rate at high resolution, is suited to complex geometries, and—thanks to a four‑way powder feed—can produce graded material compositions.

Device Application

It is particularly used for process development in aerospace, toolmaking, and materials research. The open control architecture enables integration of customer-specific strategies and process controls. The PE3D system is optimized for high-throughput material screening and demanding metallurgical applications.
