Prof. Dr. Sabine Andresen, Vice President for Equal Opportunities, Career Development & Advancement, Diversity and Gender Equality at Goethe University welcomed the participants to the event. In her opening speech, she emphasized the significance of the RMU Alliance as a strong platform to promote scholarship culture in the Rhine-Main region.

Luca Neuperti, newly graduated from Goethe University Frankfurt and recipient of a scholarship from Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, then talked about self-perception and the obstacles – oftentimes based on unconscious perceptions – that prevent students from applying for a scholarship. Using personal anecdotes, he showed that the way to receive funding is often easier than one might think.

23 foundations and funding organizations presented a large variety of funding opportunities to the more than 500 participants – ranging from classic student grants to programs for studying abroad to offers tailored to specific target groups. The Stipendienlosten (scholarship pilots) of Goethe University Frankfurt offered individual peer consultation. The program also included talks on the Deutschlandstipendium, studies and internships abroad and other funding opportunities.
